Painting my way into a corner.

Oh watercolours... At least my interpretation of the Matrix Sentinel is adorable. If only they'd looked like that in the movies.

I'm bringing finger paints to the next class!

Tyrannosaurus Rex: The King of Style.

So here's the style guide to accompany the T-Rex tooth!
The RoM tends to avoid using overly decorative fonts in their advertising, so I tried
to select fonts that were clean and simple, yet strong.

The Tooth Fairy is in for such a surprise tonight.

Wire cutters are dangerous.
Paint is messy.
Paintbrushes need an undo function.
Both car primer and glossy-finish spray taste terrible.

That pretty much sums up the weekend.

I took a lot of pictures of my finished tooth while trying to find the best angle. There is one in particular that causes is to look rather unsavoury and wholly un-tooth like. No, you do not get to see that one. Well, not here at any rate.

Sadly, I'm missing a picture of 'Baked Tooth'.
Fear not, though! It just looked like 'Unbaked Tooth' went and got a tan.

Rawr and Grr and stuff.

There will be a project focusing on T-Rex soon and this is my mind map dedicated to him. I've realized that as I get further out onto various branches the exercise changes from 'mapping' to a mildly insane word association game. It starts off fairly logical, so that has to count for something.

This map will lead to the eventual sculpting of Mr. Rex, which is very exciting. He promises to be ferociously fabulous.

Peace out, yo!
<-- that's for you Varoun.

Research Assignment: Madreal

Dragon and Unicorn, The Fantasy Moose and Beaver

Sheep Flowers

Create two separate art pieces using my own personal style but inspired by the selected artist.

I'm still unsure of how to define my style, but I do really enjoy Derrick Hodgson's work. I like the surreal, the odd, and the beautiful. His characters avoid excessive detail, but still tell a story.

Little Red Riding 'Locks?

Little Red Riding Hood is the classic tale of girl meets wolf, wolf eats girl. Already full of stalking and murder, how much more twisted can the story get from a mind map? Impressively twisted.

The pictures of the mind map and new version of Little Red are lacking, but this may be for the best as the story does get rather odd. The story ends with Goldilocks betraying Red to the wolf and stealing the basket of food intended for Grandma, making Goldi the new main character.
